Desktop Support Engineer

Oxford International School

Description/Responsibility

  • The position will involve the following areas of responsibility (but are not limited to):
  • System/Application/Network Support
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Patching of network
  • Technical support for people using the network
  • Install, upgrade, configure, support and troubleshoot XP, Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 and any other authorized desktop applications on workstations and laptops
  • Performs remedial repairs on computers, laptops, printers and any other authorized peripheral equipment
  • Returns defective equipment/parts to maintenance inventory, documents customer repairs, maintains and restocks assigned parts inventory to insure proper spare parts levels
  • Safely package equipment for branches and arrange for the transport of the equipment
  • Responsible for managing backups
  • Provide support to PA system
  • Provide support to CCTV surveillance system
  • Reporting faults and maintaining logs on desktops and laptops
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
  • Training staff on new systems
  • Suggesting IT solutions to business problems

Experience Requirements

  • At least 2 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Computer Hardware/Network Companies

Education Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • Preference will be given to A+/CCNA/MikroTik certification

Skills Requirements

  • Age 22 to 30 year(s)
  • Prepare documents, meeting materials and correspondence
  • Perform basic administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the IT Manager
  • Work extra hours to meet deadlines, as required and where reasonable
  • Provide assistance as required to IT Manager
  • Provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
  • Ensure that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal customers
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
  • Adhere to company protocol as laid out in the Company Handbook
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by the IT Manager
